While browsing youtube, I found this oldie but goodie video presentation from Father Hesse that was recorded in the 1990’s.
For those who don’t know, Father Hesse was a very controversial priest from Austria who was an outspoken opponent of many issues in the church such as it’s increasing liberalism, modernism and most importantly the Novus Ordo Missae (or the “New Mass” as it is usually referred to as). Likewise he was universally panned by modernist Catholics and loved by traditionalists as a result and still remains a hit among traditionalist Catholics to this day.
Father Hesse died in 2006 from complications of diabetes, which if I had to wager an educated guess his penchant for drinking inestimable amounts of wine had something to do with (a habit that is evident in many of his videos).
Father Hesse had a wit and charm about him that was irreplicable and his ability to tell a story can educate and inform both Catholics and non-Catholics a like.
Watch as he brilliantly explains his position on the Novus Ordo Missae and in the process, gives quite the elucidation on everything from theology to philosophy to Thomism (which is ultimately a combination of both). He even throws in a few Hillary Clinton jabs in there too (especially one zinger at 29:11 which may leave your mouth wide open). The entire video is definitely thought provoking and worthy of a watch by anyone curious.
Enjoy the videos and grab a bit of popcorn as it’s very long. The first video also repeats a bit halfway so be sure to keep that in mind. Credit to catholiccounterpoint on YouTube for originally posting it.
